Pre-School and Children's Ministry

Pre-School Ministry

In our Pre-School School Division, we want to provide your child with a loving, safe, and happy learning environment. We teach God’s love through Bible stories, activities, and learning centers. We want you to enjoy your Sunday School class and/or the Worship Service with the knowledge that we will take the best possible care of your child.

Children’s Ministry

As we read in Psalm 127, “Children are a gift of the Lord,” and at West Monroe Baptist Church it is our mission to assist parents in nurturing the spiritual, physical, emotional, social, academic, and aesthetic growth of our precious children.

Through our Children’s Ministry we attempt to provide and promote opportunities for our children and their families to know Jesus Christ.

Today’s children are the leaders of the decades to come. It is the goal of the Children’s Ministry to root them solidly in godly principles through biblically based lesson and scripture memory.

Our workers lay a biblical foundation of salvation, scripture memory, and preparation for life for our children.

Children’s Ministry Schedule includes:

Sunday School for all ages each Sunday morning

His Kidz Church is a Children's Discipleship Program held each Sunday evening (September-May)

Children’s Choir each Wednesday Evening

Student Ministry

Being a young person these days is tough that’s why we want to invite you to come be a part of West Monroe Students. West Monroe Students is a group of sixth thru twelfth grade students who come together to do as our church’s purpose statement says and to proclaim God’s word, through weekly bible studies, to strengthen believers, through weekly discipleship and in depth bible study, to reach unbelievers through missions trips and projects (both local and long distance), and to glorify God by using our talents and abilities to serve others and in turn serve the Lord.

Here you will find a list of our week to week activities and some upcoming special planned events, we really hope you will consider joining us in serving God together. There is no point in going it alone when you have people, and most of a God, who cares about you and wants to include you in service and fellowship, so come on out, we can’t wait to meet you!

-Youth Sunday School in the youth room below the sanctuary.
6pm -FUEL (a Dicipleship Program just for youth) in the Family Life Center.

-Youth Group in the youth room.

We also have monthly outings just for fun and getting to know each other better and at least bimonthly service projects where we can have a chance to give back to others.

Whether you are a sixth grader just getting used to the pressures of middle school, a senior in high school trying to decide what it is you are supposed to do with your life, or somewhere in between, are always here for you if you need us!

Senior Ministry

If you’re a Senior Adult…there is no greater time than now!

In all the years of life there is no greater time for those who are 55 years of age and above to make a positive impact on family, friends, and the society around us. Seniors have a wealth of knowledge and experience that can be shared with those they come in contact with. They have the time and resources to give to meet needs like no other generation. When equipped with the proper motivation, training, and organization, this group of adults can make a positive impact in the church and society and as a result leave a godly legacy that will inspire generations to come.

Senior adults were born for such a time as this. God is giving to many longer years of life that His children may use their knowledge, experience, and wealth in ways that will strengthen the church and bring greater glory to God.

If you are a Senior Adult, you’re invited to join with us as we seek to build up one another and reach out inviting other to join us in walking with Christ.

Our special monthly activities include:

JOY Club Meeting- third Monday night of the month at 6:00pm (Ted & Fairis Smith- Joy Club Directors)

Small Group Bible Study
(Sunday School)

Sunday @ 9:00am All Ages

The Pre-School division at West Monroe Baptist Church realizes that each preschooler is a precious gift from God. Because of this, we strive to offer our preschoolers the best preschool division possible. We want each child to know that Jesus is a very special friend that loves them.

Today's children are the leaders of the next decade. It is the goal of the childrens division to root them solidly in Godly principles through biblically based lesson and scripture memory. The teachers in our Childrens division lay a biblical foundation of salvation, scripture memory, and preparation of life for our children.

Many of a young persons decisions are made during their middle and high school years. At West Monroe we believe these are the years when Christian principles must be taught to our young people. Our youth/student division provides positive opportunities for these young people by teaching them God's Principles, encouraging scripture memory, and witnessing to those they come in contact with.

Newlyweds, along with Youth, Median- Age, and Senior Adults face calm waters when life's passengers can sit back and relax or stormy waters which require every ounce of energy plus to keep on sailing. Its during both of these times that the solid foundation of the church can be relied on. Women will learn how to be employees, mothers, and wives while men learn how to be effective leaders, loving husbands, and Godly fathers.

No matter what age you may be, at West Monroe Baptist Church, our desire is to provide you with the encouragement and the knowledge you need to make it through each day.
